About Rosolina Mare
Rosolina Mare is the seaside part of the commune of Rosolina, in the province of Rovigo, on the Po Delta. It is flat country, about a metre above sea level, and the River Adige reaches the sea here. It is a tourist centre of real importance across the whole Veneto. At Porto Caleri there is a 23-hectare coastal botanical garden, run as a regional nature preserve. Just along the commune's coast, Albarella is an island of about 5 km by 1.5 km, joined to the mainland by a 12 km strip with a road and a movable bridge. Traffic there is limited and bikes are the main way round. Our homes sit close together, within about a kilometre, and the typical one has two bedrooms and a pool or air conditioning.

Venice Marco Polo is the main airport, about an hour and ten minutes by road, with flights from Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted and Luton. Padua is about an hour by road. A car is the practical way to reach Chioggia, Venice and the delta, although in the resort itself bikes work for short trips.
When to go to Rosolina Mare
This is a low-lying coast, so the draw is the sea, bikes and wetlands rather than hills. Albarella restricts traffic and favours bikes, which suits a cycling week in any season. Porto Caleri's garden is run by the regional forestry service, so check its opening dates and beach services for the week you want.
