Bibione suits families with young children who want a long, fine sand beach, cycle routes and an apartment near the sea. The trade-off is a short season: most visitors come between May and September, and July and August are high season.
Bibione occupies a peninsula on the Adriatic between the Lugugnana canal and the River Tagliamento, in the comune of San Michele al Tagliamento. It is divided into Lido dei Pini, Bibione Pineda, Bibione Spiaggia and Lido del Sole, with pine woods behind the shore. The beach is about 8 km of fine, pale sand, and the sea stays shallow for a long way out. Smoking was first banned on the strip nearest the water in 2014, and since 2019 it has been banned on the whole beach apart from set smoking areas. There are 24 cycle routes covering 115 km. Most of our homes are apartments and small houses close to the sea, few sleep more than eight, and few have a private pool. Visitors come largely from Germany and Austria, as well as Italy and Eastern Europe.
