Frielendorf is a small town on the edge of the Knüll hills in Hesse, with our homes grouped in one spot, nearly all with a garden. It suits quiet breaks with a sauna. There is little nightlife and you need a car.
Frielendorf is a state-recognised climatic spa of about seven thousand people, made up of a main village and fifteen smaller ones at 230 to 260 metres on the northwest edge of the Knüll range. Sights are modest: a museum shop covering the local brown coal mine, the Verna village museum, the Spießturm watchtower and the Klosterkirche in Spieskappel, consecrated in 1255. The Silbersee, a lake east of town, has a holiday resort. Our homes sit close together, mostly with a garden, and most have a sauna and a fireplace. They sleep around six in about three bedrooms, and a pool is rare. Evenings are quiet, so cooking in is the norm. In winter the Eisenberg has a ski lift with two short runs.

Summer suits walking, cycling and the water sports at Seepark Kirchheim, and the castle knight festivals run in summer. Winter brings short ski runs and cross-country trails on the Eisenberg. The town is quiet year-round, so check opening times of village museums and inns before you go.
