Ronshausen is a small air-spa village in the Ulfe valley in northeast Hesse, bordering Bebra. It suits a quiet house stay with a garden; from Frankfurt Airport the train takes about three hours against an hour and a half by car.
Ronshausen has the official status of a Luftkurort, an air spa, and lies in the Ulfe valley between about 230 and 470 m, in the Seulingswald and the Richelsdorf Hills. The village was first documented in 1061 and collected road tolls on the Ulfestraße from 1359 to 1834. Farming dominated until the Bebra to Eisenach railway was built, and tourism has played a part since the mid-twentieth century. Machtlos is the one outlying part. The homes sit in a tight cluster rather than being scattered, nearly all with a garden, most sleeping around four, and some have a private pool or a sauna. With a couple of thousand residents, this is a village rather than a resort.

In name, yes: it holds the status of a Luftkurort, an air spa. In practice it is a village of a couple of thousand people, so treat it as a quiet countryside base rather than a spa resort.
