La Punt Chamues-ch is a small Upper Engadine village on the Inn, with cross-country trails on the valley floor and an hourly train. It suits couples and small groups who want quiet, not lifts on the doorstep.
La Punt Chamues-ch is two villages joined by a bridge over the Inn, with La Punt on the north side of the valley and Chamues-ch on the south, at 1,687 metres. Fewer than 700 people live here, and the old centre is made up of 16th and 17th-century patrician houses with sgraffito on the facades, relics of its days as a trading stop on the Albula route. Val Chamuera, entered at Chamues-ch, is called the most pristine valley in the Engadine. The homes sit close together, within about a kilometre, and the valley floor is flat. Most are small, with one bedroom and room for around four. Most have a garden, and a good share have a sauna. The village is known for cross-country trails and winter walking rather than downhill slopes.
