About Brünig
Despite the name, these homes are not up at the Brünig Pass but on the Haslital valley floor around Meiringen, at roughly 600 m in the canton of Bern. Meiringen is a village that claims to have invented meringue. The Reichenbach Falls, where Conan Doyle staged Sherlock Holmes's fight with Moriarty, are reached by a funicular from Willigen, and wooden paths lead through the Aare Gorge. A cable car climbs from the village to Reuti for the Hasliberg slopes. Meiringen station is on the Brünig line between Interlaken and Lucerne. The homes are spread over a small area rather than in one spot.
