Villas in Jávea

About Jávea

Jávea, or Xàbia in Valencian, has three main areas: an old town of narrow winding streets, a fishing port lined with restaurants and bars, and the Arenal, the main commercial and leisure district. The Arenal beach is 480 metres of coarse sand with shallow water and a promenade of restaurants and cafes, and it is the only sandy beach in the municipality. The port has a gravel beach and a marina. Behind the town rises the Montgó massif, over 750 metres high and a natural park since 1987. Most of our homes have a private pool and many have a garden, and they are spread over several kilometres rather than gathered in one centre. In the evening most Arenal restaurants turn into lounge bars. About half of Jávea's residents are foreign nationals.

Getting to Jávea

Valencia airport is about 100 km to the north and Alicante about 100 km to the south, so choose on flight times and price. A car is essential for most locations in Jávea, since the old town, port and Arenal are separate and homes are spread out.

When to go to Jávea

Summer is the busy season. In July and August car access to Granadella cove is limited, and the cove has lifeguards all summer. The health centre one street back from the Arenal opens only at Easter and in summer, which shows when the beach district is at its fullest. The Montgó summit hike is there in every season.
