About Benidorm
Benidorm has around 77,000 residents and is known for its skyscrapers, among them the 186-metre Gran Hotel Bali. The old town sits on a rocky promontory between Levante, a golden beach of over two kilometres north of the port, and Poniente, about three kilometres to the south. Mal Pas is a quieter cove between them. Both big beaches have held a Blue Flag since 1987. Our homes are spread over around four kilometres, mostly two-bedroom apartments for about four, three quarters with a pool and most with air conditioning. Evenings are the main event: the Levante promenade is known for nightlife, and Poniente, with its bars and restaurants, becomes the heart of the town at night. About a third of its visitors are British. Winters are mild.

When to go to Benidorm
High season turns Benidorm into a very busy resort, and Poniente is the nighttime hub. Summer maximums typically run from 28 to 32 degrees, with warm nights above 20. Winters are mild, and the town gets over 3,000 hours of sunshine a year with under 300 mm of rain, so cooler months still bring sun for beach walks.

Benidorm villa holidays: questions answered
Is the beach at Benidorm sand?
Yes. Spain's tourist board describes fine sandy beaches, with Levante over two kilometres of golden sand and Poniente about three kilometres. Ti Ximo and La Almadrava, at the southern end, are rockier.
Levante or Poniente beach in Benidorm?
Levante is north of the port and has a busy promenade of cafes and restaurants; Poniente is longer and is the nighttime hub. The tourist board suggests Levante for morning sun. Your choice depends on which end your apartment is nearer.
Is Benidorm good for families?
Yes, with caveats. Terra Mítica is under 15 minutes away and some family restaurants offer children's entertainment. Blue Flag beaches are a plus, but the resort is dense with nightlife and high-rises.
Is Benidorm busy in August?
Yes. In high season the town becomes a busy resort with many activities. About a third of its visitors are British and typical summer maximums run from 28 to 32 degrees, with warm nights.
Is Benidorm good in winter?
Reasonably. Wikipedia describes mild winters, over 3,000 hours of sunshine a year and under 300 mm of rain. Nightlife and the long promenades carry on, but check which beach facilities and attractions are open before you travel.
