About Carovigno
Carovigno stands at around 160 metres, 7 km from the Adriatic and 30 km from Brindisi, in the northern part of Salento. The old centre has lime-painted houses and stone arches leading uphill, with the Dentice di Frasso castle at its highest point, and the town is known for its olive oil. The homes are spread over around nine kilometres, mostly in the countryside and towards the coast rather than in the old town. Most have a garden and air conditioning, and typical homes have two bedrooms and room for about five. A minority have a pool, so check before booking if that matters. The Torre Guaceto reserve and marine protected area is a few kilometres away, with a dune system behind its shore.
