Lido Marini is a seaside resort in the lower Salento, with a wide beach of fine sand and shallow water. Very few people live here all year, so it is lively in summer and quiet otherwise. Homes are small, and air conditioning is nearly universal.
Lido Marini lies between Torre Pali and Torre Mozza, mostly within Ugento, about 8 km away, with a smaller share in Salve. The main beach is wide and fine-sanded, and heading towards Santa Maria di Leuca sandy stretches alternate with a very low rocky shelf and clear water. Offshore, the shallow Ugento shoals have caught ships since Roman times. Behind the shore, Mediterranean scrub and olive trees dominate, and a marshy basin to the north-west draws mallards, teal and grey herons. Tourism is the only economic activity, and the resort is one of the most extensive seaside places on the Cape. The homes are spread over about 6 km, mostly small, sleeping three at the middle, with air conditioning in all and a garden in about half.

A neighbouring seaside place in Salve, on the other side of the resort from Torre Mozza.

Towards it the coast alternates sandy stretches with a very low rocky shelf and clear water.
Brindisi is the nearest practical airport, about an hour and 35 minutes by car over roughly 68 miles. Buses need a change at Lecce and take over three hours. A car is the realistic way to arrive and to reach other beaches on this coast.
In high summer the resort fills with tens of thousands of visitors, against only a few dozen permanent residents, so August is crowded and the rest of the year is very quiet. Tourism is the only local economic activity, so restaurants, shops and beach services depend on the season. Check opening times before booking outside summer.
