Colà is a small inland village near Lazise on Lake Garda's Veneto side, suited to families wanting a garden. Many homes have a private pool. The lake is a short drive away, not on the doorstep.
Colà is a small village in the municipality of Lazise, about 3.5 km south-south-east of Lazise in the hinterland of Lake Garda, and about 25 km north-north-west of Verona. It is surrounded by green park areas, and along with Pacengo it pairs a stay near the lake with farmland and organic farms to explore. Villa dei Cedri is a 13-hectare park with a thermal bath and two thermal lakes, and the village has old villas from the 16th to 18th centuries, a pilgrimage chapel and the parish church of Santa Maria. Homes sit within a kilometre or two, and most have a garden and a good share a private pool. Evenings are for the garden, or a short drive to Lazise and its Scaliger castle and walls. You will need to drive to the lake.

Verona airport is the closest, with the drive to Colà about 22 km and 27 minutes. By public transport it takes two buses with a change at Verona Porta Nuova and about 2 hours 15 minutes, so a hire car is the practical choice for the villages and the lake.
Colà has no beach season of its own. The thermal lakes at Villa dei Cedri, fed by warm springs, and the old villas and churches give reasons to come outside summer, while the campsites along the Lazise shore are geared to families and visitors from northern Europe. Check opening times at the park and attractions in the quieter months before you plan around them.
