About Faxe Ladeplads
Faxe Ladeplads is a coastal town of about 2,500 people, around 5 km south-east of Faxe. It began as Hylleholt and took its present name in the 19th century, when a harbour was built to serve the limestone industry; a railway line has run from the Faxe limestone quarry to the harbour since 1879. Today it has a working harbour and a marina, with forest running right down to the sea. The beaches are sandy with shallow water, and from the edge of the forest you can see Møn. The homes are spread around the town. Evenings are quiet, and most people come for the sea air.
