About Crno

Crno is a small settlement of a few hundred residents and a local district within the City of Zadar's administrative area. It is not the old town and not a resort with a centre, and the homes listed under it are scattered across a wide area, so there is no single beach, promenade or evening street to describe. Check each listing's map pin before you assume you can walk to anything. What the homes share is size: most sleep eight or more, most have a private pool and a garden, and a good number have a fireplace. For a day out the draw is Zadar's old city, laid out on a small stone islet with a Roman street plan and medieval churches and monasteries. Treat this as a base for driving, with the pool as the main reason to choose it.

When to go to Crno

This stretch of coast has hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters, and swimming in the sea is possible from May to October, which is also the window when a private pool earns its keep. The UK flights are seasonal, so a winter stay may need a connection. Outside summer the old town is the main reason to be here.
