About Maslenica
Maslenica is a village on the Novigrad Sea, in the municipality of Jasenice, with about 800 residents. The Zrmanja river flows into this gulf, which keeps the water clear. The Novsko Ždrilo strait links the Novigrad Sea with the Velebit Channel, and two bridges named Maslenica Bridge cross it: the D8 road bridge, rebuilt in 2006 after destruction in the 1990s, and the A1 motorway bridge slightly north. The homes sit within about a kilometre of each other and are mostly large, typically three bedrooms, with a good many sleeping eight or more. There is no resort strip here, so evenings are spent at your own table. Outside summer it is a village of 800 people beside a busy crossing.
