About Zadar/Bibinje
Bibinje is a suburb of Zadar with a little under 4,000 residents, spread along about four kilometres of coastline with beaches and pathways. Those beaches are covered with smooth pebbles, so pack water shoes rather than buckets and spades. The homes sit in a tight cluster, so the village itself is the whole area, with Zadar's old town close enough for an evening out. Most homes are modest two-bedroom houses and apartments, and fewer than half have a private pool. Air conditioning is nearly universal, which counts in a place where July and August are the hottest months. Evenings in the village are low-key, and anything livelier means going into Zadar. Out of season Bibinje is a small place with few visitors, and UK flights stop.
Is Zadar/Bibinje right for you?
- Best for
- Couples and small families wanting Zadar close but a quieter base
- Not for you if
- You want resort nightlife, because Bibinje is a small suburb and evenings are quiet.

Zadar/Bibinje villa holidays: questions answered
What are the beaches like in Bibinje?
Pebble, mostly. Bibinje's beaches are covered with smooth pebbles, along about four kilometres of coastline with pathways. Water shoes help, and families wanting sand will need to look elsewhere.
How far is Bibinje from Zadar?
Very close. Bibinje is a suburb of Zadar, so the old town is a short trip, and Zadar's airport at Zemunik Donji is about 8 km from the city centre, which keeps arrival and departure days simple.
Can you fly to Zadar from the UK all year?
No, UK flights to Zadar are seasonal. Ryanair serves it from Stansted and several regional airports, and easyJet from Gatwick, but none of these routes is listed as year-round, so winter visitors will need another plan.
Is there anything to see near Bibinje besides Zadar?
Plenty for day trips. The island of Ugljan is a ferry hop from Zadar to Preko, and Paklenica National Park has two canyons with climbing from spring to late autumn. Both are easiest by car.
Is Bibinje big on tourism?
Only modestly. The municipality counts around 800 registered rooms and apartments for roughly 2,500 guests, so it stays a small place even in July and August, and the big sights are in Zadar itself.
