About Pula/Krnica
Krnica stands at about 195 metres on a bluff above the sea, among forests, pastures and vineyards. It is the only village in Istria with its own port, reached by a 2.5 km road through pine forest. The port is a fishing hamlet of wooden boats, nets and stone houses, and small rocky coves line the Krnica channel. Homes are spread over about five kilometres around the village and nearby villages, so some are a short step from the lanes and others further out. In spring people pick wild asparagus and herbs, and in autumn mushrooms, grapes and olives. Evenings are quiet. For restaurants and the Roman Arena you drive to Pula, and the wider Marčana municipality has more coves, including Blaz and Budava.
