Thyon-Les Collons suits skiers who want direct access to Les 4 Vallées, the largest continuous ski area entirely on Swiss soil. The train stops at Sion, so the last stretch is by road.
Thyon 2000 is a purpose-built resort from the 1970s at 2,095 m, linked with the village of Les Collons; Valais tourism treats the pair as one village, Thyon-Les Collons. Thyon is the eastern entry to Les 4 Vallées, 412 km of pistes and 82 lifts shared with Veysonnaz, Nendaz, La Tzoumaz, Verbier and Bruson. Chairlifts rise from Les Masses and Les Collons, and gondolas from Veysonnaz. Beginners start in the Petit Vallon area, which has two free conveyor belts. In summer the slopes become mountain pastures with bike routes, a pumptrack at Collons 1800 and a wildlife park, Ranch Le Caribou. Our homes are clustered in the resort itself. Many have a pool, some have a sauna, and a good share sleep eight or more.
Gondolas run from Veysonnaz up to Thyon 2000.
Both belong to Les 4 Vallées, along with La Tzoumaz and Bruson.
Village reached from Les Collons on the 31.79 km Valais Epic Gravel bike route, one of the area's longest listed rides.

Ranch Le Caribou and cheese-making at an alp are other summer options.
