About Saas-Almagell
Saas-Almagell is the southernmost village in the Saas-Fee/Saastal holiday region, at 1,672 m, with only about 360 residents. The Mattmark Dam, built in the 1960s, holds the largest lake in the valley, just up the road. Homes mostly have two bedrooms and sleep around five, many have a garden and a few have a sauna. All of them are within a few hundred metres of each other in the village. Winter brings wide slopes, cross-country trails, toboggan runs and an ice rink. In summer the hamlet of Furggstalden is the start of an adventure trail to the Almagelleralp. The big cable cars are in Saas-Grund and Saas-Fee.
