La Tzoumaz is a small ski village at about 1,500 m, linked by cable car to Verbier and the 4 Vallées. It suits groups wanting large homes, but with just over 300 residents it is very quiet.
La Tzoumaz, formally Les Mayens-de-Riddes, has just over 300 residents and a handful of small hotels and guesthouses. Its main access road starts in Riddes, 13 km below. The slopes join the 4 Vallées, and an 8-minute cable car runs to Verbier. Our homes are close together, and most sleep eight or more, typically with three bedrooms. Some have a sauna and many have a fireplace. In summer, the Bisse du Saxon, part of a 19th-century irrigation system, has about 100 km of gently sloping paths for walking and mountain biking. A 10 km sledge run, the longest in Western Switzerland, drops from the 2,354 m top station. Out of season, check opening times before you go.

Winter is the main season: slopes run to about 2,950 m, with good snow on the northern slopes and sunshine on the southern ones. Summer suits walking and mountain biking on the Bisse du Saxon paths, plus paragliding, climbing and fishing. Check lift opening dates before booking outside the main seasons.
