About Fiesch
Fiesch is a village in the Aletsch Arena, first mentioned in 1203, with a pedestrianised, traditional centre. Its transport hub stacks the buses on the lower level and the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn in the middle, with the cable car to Fiescheralp up above. From Fiescheralp a second cable car goes to the Eggishorn, almost 3,000 metres up, where you can see almost the full length of the Aletsch Glacier. Summer options include a via ferrata on the Eggishorn, a bouldering hall, a rope park and paragliding. Our homes are spread around the village, mostly small, a few with a sauna and some with a garden. After dark, it is a small village.

In winter there is the Eggishorn-Heimatt piste, the Fieschalp-Lax toboggan run down to the valley, a snowshoe tour to Fiescheralp and winter walks to Riederalp and Bettmeralp. The Aletsch Arena Guest Card gives overnight guests discounts on mountain railways.

Fiesch villa holidays: questions answered
How do you get to the Eggishorn from Fiesch?
Take the cable car from Fiesch to Fiescheralp, then a second cable car to the Eggishorn viewpoint at about 2,926 metres. The upper station has a wooden ramp and a short circular walk.
Is Fiesch car-free?
No, though its village centre is pedestrianised and buses and trains meet at the hub. The car-free resorts in the Aletsch Arena are Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp, all up on the plateau and reached by cableway.
Is Fiesch good for a family stay?
Yes. The Gogwärgiweg dwarf trail is made for families, and there is a rope park and a zipline park. Fiesch is also known as a family destination.
Can you see the Aletsch Glacier from Fiesch?
Not from the valley floor; you go up to the Eggishorn. From there you see almost the full length of the Great Aletsch Glacier, the Fiescher Glacier, the Jungfrau, the Mönch and the Matterhorn.
Fiesch or Riederalp for a stay?
Fiesch is in the valley, on the train line, with its own pedestrianised centre. Riederalp is on the sunny plateau above, reached only by cableway and free of cars.
