Brezzo di Bedero is a comune in the province of Varese in Lombardy, about five minutes by road from Luino on the eastern shore of Lake Maggiore. Its main monument is the collegiate church of San Vittore, also called the Canonica, recorded as the seat of the Travaglia parish in 1137. The present building, Romanesque with three naves, dates from 1165, raised by San Galdino on the remains of an early Christian church. Inside are rough masonry and bare pillars, remains of the Romanesque pulpit and traces of Renaissance frescoes, and the outside is decorated with blind arches. The bell tower was completed in 1619. The homes are spread over a fairly wide area around the village.
About five minutes by taxi, with a weekly Wednesday market said to be among the largest of its kind in Europe.
A regular boat service from Luino links it with nearby lakeside towns and villages, an easy way to sightsee without driving.
