About Beetzsee
Beetzsee is a small rural municipality of two villages, Brielow and Radewege, about 40 km west of Berlin and bordering the city of Brandenburg an der Havel to the south. The lake that gives it its name runs along the eastern edge: a glacial channel lake about 22 km long, in four basins joined by narrow river-like channels, mostly shallow at around 3 metres on average. It is used for sailing, swimming, rowing and motorboating, and the whole municipality lies inside the Westhavelland nature park. Brielow has a lime tree said to be the thickest tree in Brandenburg. Our homes are grouped together at one spot. Evenings are very quiet.

Getting to Beetzsee
Berlin Brandenburg Airport is about 55 minutes' drive from neighbouring Brandenburg an der Havel. From Berlin, Beetzsee is about 1 hour 10 minutes by car, roughly 69 km, or around two and a quarter hours by train and the 569 bus to Brielow. The 569 is the only bus running at weekends, so a car is close to essential.
