Villas in Le Corbier
Le Corbier suits families who want a compact ski resort in the Les Sybelles area, with homes in one small cluster. Most are small apartments for around four. The catch is that it was built in the 1960s as a resort, not a village, and UK flights land at Chambéry or Geneva, an hour or more away.

About Le Corbier
Le Corbier is a ski resort at the foot of Mont Corbier, in the commune of Villarembert. It was developed from the early 1960s and inaugurated in December 1967, built on the model of other postwar ski resorts, so expect apartment blocks rather than old chalets. The Le Corbier lift area runs from 1,550 m to 2,265 m, and the resort is one of six linked into Les Sybelles, which spans 1,100 m to 2,620 m. Our homes sit in a tight cluster, so almost everything is close on foot. Nearly all the homes list a pool, so check which ones are open in winter. For shops, Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne is the nearest proper town, about 17 minutes down the hill. There are no gardens to speak of in a resort like this.

When to go to Le Corbier
Winter is the main season, with skiing across Les Sybelles. In summer the resort has a bike park, opened in 2019, and cycling races have finished or passed through here. Lifts and shops can keep shorter hours outside the ski season, so check the dates you want before booking.

Le Corbier villa holidays: questions answered
How big is the ski area at Le Corbier?
Le Corbier is part of Les Sybelles, a ski area of around 310 km of runs linking six resorts. The linked area spans 1,100 m to 2,620 m, and the resort itself sits at 1,550 m.
Is Le Corbier a village?
No. Le Corbier is a resort developed from the early 1960s and inaugurated in December 1967. Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves, in the same ski area, is a traditional Maurienne village.
Which airport is best for Le Corbier?
Chambéry is closest, about an hour and five minutes by road, with seasonal British Airways, Jet2 and TUI flights. Geneva is about two hours ten away, so Chambéry saves time if your dates match its flights.
Is Le Corbier worth visiting in summer?
It has some summer activity. A bike park opened in 2019, and cycle races have finished here or passed through. Check which lifts and shops are open for your week, because a ski resort runs differently in summer.
Is Le Corbier linked to La Toussuire?
Yes. Both are among the six resorts joined into the Les Sybelles ski area in 2003. La Toussuire sits between 1,680 m and 2,431 m.
