About Saint Gervais
Saint-Gervais-les-Bains is a Haute-Savoie commune of about 5,800 people, with the lower village of Le Fayet holding the main railway station and the thermal park. The commune climbs from 571 m to 4,810 m on the Mont Blanc massif. Our homes are close together around the village, mostly one-bedroom apartments for about four, with a minority having a pool, very few a sauna and the largest sleeping fourteen. The Mont Blanc Tramway, a 12.4 km line first opened to Col de Voza in 1909, leaves from the forecourt of Le Fayet station for the Nid d'Aigle at 2,372 m on the Bionnassay glacier. The thermal spa is open all year and a train runs from Le Fayet to Chamonix. Summer brings mountain biking, climbing, hiking, paragliding and rafting.
