About Sjølund
Sjølund is a coastal postcode in the Kolding area, and Grønninghoved Strand is its landmark. The beach has fine sand and shallow water over a sandy and stony bottom, plus a bathing jetty, a toilet, parking and a Blue Flag. Our homes sit in a tight cluster, and most sleep about six. Many have a sauna and a fireplace, while a pool is rare. Evenings are rural and still, so a meal out usually means driving to Kolding. Skamlingsbanken, a hill of 113 metres between Kolding and Christiansfeld, is linked to the beach by a walk of about five kilometres there and back, and it has a visitor centre with a café.

This is a beach-and-walking coast, so summer is when Grønninghoved Strand earns its Blue Flag and the bathing jetty is in use. The Skamlingsbanken walk and Kolding castle work in other seasons too, so check opening times before an off-season visit, and expect a quiet shoreline.
