About Hasle
Hasle is a town of 1,627 people on the west coast of Bornholm. It has no natural harbour, so the harbour was built in the late 19th century and now serves fishing boats and pleasure craft. Several eateries by the water look out over the marina and the evening sun, and the town's only hotel sits above it. There is a beach with bathing facilities near the harbour, plus supermarkets and shops. Our homes are spread around Hasle over roughly 7 km rather than set in the town. Most sleep around six, nearly half sleep eight or more, and most have a fireplace; nearly a third have a sauna. Hasle Røgeri is the last smokehouse on Bornholm that smokes in the traditional way, over open chimneys with alderwood.

Yes, a small one with bathing facilities near the harbour. For longer sand, the south coast has sandy beaches, and Dueodde in the southeast is the best known, so expect a drive from Hasle.
Can you walk from Hasle to Hammershus?
Yes, on the Coastal Path leg from Hasle to Sandvig: 19 km, about 5 to 6 hours, mostly hilly and uneven. The path passes Jons Kapel and Hammershus, and is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
What is the Hasle smokehouse?
Hasle Røgeri is described as the last smokehouse on Bornholm that smokes the old-fashioned way, over firewood. It serves a fish buffet and runs a 45-minute guided tour with a herring tasting, for groups of at least 15.
How do you get to Hasle from Copenhagen?
Fly Copenhagen to Bornholm in about 40 minutes, then drive roughly 14 minutes from Rønne airport to Hasle. Alternatively take the Ystad ferry, about 1 hour 20 minutes on the fast boat.
