Villas in Allinge
Allinge suits walkers and couples who want Bornholm's rocky north, with the Hammershus castle ruin and the Hammeren headland close by. Houses are mostly for around six. The trade-off is the shore: Sandvig has a sandy beach with rocky areas, not a long open sweep of sand.

About Allinge
Allinge and Sandvig form one small town of about 1,450 people on Bornholm's northern coast. Allinge's port dates from 1862 and Sandvig's from the early 1830s, and Sandvig was a fishing village with medieval roots, named for its sandy cove. Sandvig beach is sand mixed with rocks, with a bathing jetty, lifeguards through the bathing season and dogs allowed. Our houses lie within a few kilometres, mostly for around six with two bedrooms, and a third have a fireplace. About a quarter have a pool. North of town the Hammeren promontory has cliffs, heath, two lakes and two lighthouses, and Hammershus, a 13th-century fortress ruin, stands on it. Bronze Age rock carvings at Madsebakke are on the walk there.
Is Allinge right for you?

Getting to Allinge
Fly to Copenhagen, then DAT flies to Bornholm Airport at Rønne, about 19 minutes from Allinge by car. The alternative is the Ystad to Rønne car ferry, about 1 hour 20 minutes. Buses take over an hour with a change, so a car or bicycle makes the north coast much easier.
When to go to Allinge
Summer is the easy season: lifeguards patrol Sandvig beach through the bathing season, and day trips to Christiansø are mostly a summer thing. Bornholm gets about 1,800 hours of sunshine a year. Outside summer, DAT is the year-round flight to Copenhagen while SAS and Norwegian are seasonal, and the fireplace in about a third of the homes suits the colder months.

Yes, at Sandvig, the island's most northerly beach, beside Allinge. It is sand with rocky areas, with a bathing jetty, lifeguards in the season and dogs allowed. It is a cove, not a long open beach.
How far is Allinge from Bornholm airport?
About 19 minutes by car, roughly 18 km, from the airport at Rønne. Public transport is slower: around 1 hour 23 minutes using two buses via Hasle. DAT operates the Copenhagen flight to Rønne all year.
How do I walk to Hammershus from Allinge?
The signed Cirkelstien path runs from the Madsebakke car park, where the Bronze Age carvings are, to Hammershus. It is just under 2.7 km each way, easy going and about 1.5 hours round trip, on mixed surfaces.
Can I bring my own car to Bornholm for Allinge?
Yes. Bornholmslinjen runs a car ferry from Ystad in Sweden to Rønne four times a day, taking about 1 hour 20 minutes. Ferries also run from Køge and Sassnitz. Check sailing times when you choose your dates.
Can you visit Christiansø from Allinge?
Yes, but via Gudhjem on Bornholm, where the ferry has run since 1684. Christiansø lies about 18 km northeast of Gudhjem, has around 90 residents and receives roughly 45,000 visitors a year, mostly summer day-trippers.
