About Ayia Napa
Ayia Napa is a separate resort from Protaras, about 10 km away, and a much livelier one. It has turned from a family resort into a dance party capital, with bars around The Square and clubs that mostly open after 1am. By day it is about the beaches: Nissi, about 4 km from the square, is the busiest, Makronissos is sometimes quieter and more family-friendly, and Sandy Bay is sheltered from the wind. The historic landmark in the centre is the monastery beside the square, in its present form from around 1500. Our homes are scattered around the resort, mostly for two to six people, and most have a private pool. Supermarkets in the centre cost more than usual, and parking there can be a problem.
Is Ayia Napa right for you?

- Not for you if

Is Ayia Napa in Protaras?
No. Ayia Napa is a separate resort about 10 km from Protaras. Protaras is quieter, with less of a club scene, and caters more to families, so decide between the two on atmosphere.
Is Ayia Napa good for families?
By day, yes. Makronissos is described as more family-friendly than Nissi, and Sandy Bay is sheltered from the wind. The nights are the catch, as clubs near the square run until daybreak, so pick a home on the outskirts.
Is Nissi Beach in Ayia Napa worth visiting?
Nissi is the busiest and most party-minded beach in Ayia Napa, about 4 km from the central square. Arrive early in summer to get a spot, or try Makronissos, which is sometimes quieter.
Can you walk around Ayia Napa?
Mostly, yes: the town is just about small enough to walk, and bicycles are widely available with plenty of bike lanes. Parking in the centre can be a problem, so a hire car is more use for the wider area.
Are the sea caves near Ayia Napa worth seeing?
Yes. They lie beneath the cliffs near Cape Greco and can be reached on foot along the E4 trail or by road. You can look down from above, swim to the entrances or join a boat trip.
