About Pazin
Pazin is the administrative seat of Istria County, a town of about 4,000 in its urban settlement, made capital in 1991 partly because it lies near the centre of the peninsula. Its castle, once the seat of the Istrian margraves and a museum since the end of the Second World War, is built above the Pazin chasm, the best example of karst hydrography in Istria. The homes are scattered over several kilometres of countryside and villages around the town. They are small, sleeping four to six in two bedrooms, and nearly all have a private pool. Evenings are those of a county town, not a resort.
