Falera suits skiers and walkers who want a small, sunny Romansh village next to the Laax and Flims lifts. Most homes have a sauna, and many list a pool. The village is small and quiet, and the main lift hub is in neighbouring Laax.
Falera is a village of about 625 people at roughly 1,200 metres, on a sunny terrace above the Vorderrhein in Graubünden, where Romansh is the main language. Stone pillars, the menhirs, stand around the church of St. Remigius and are said to date from about 1500 BC; a settlement began on the Mutta around 1800 BC. The Curnius chairlift runs from Falera to a mountain station at 1,644 metres, and the Galaaxy hub for the wider ski area is listed under Laax. Our homes are clustered within about 700 metres. Most sleep around four with one bedroom, most list a sauna and many a pool, and few have a garden. The tourist site lists a handful of restaurants in the village. Views run over the Rhine valley to Chur.
