About Hasliberg
Hasliberg sits on a south-west facing terrace above the Aare valley at about 1,000 m, strung out as four villages, Hohfluh, Wasserwendi, Goldern and Reuti, from west to east. Fewer than 1,200 people live here, so there is no town centre to speak of. Most homes have a garden and some have a fireplace. A few have a sauna, and none have a pool. Gondolas climb from Reuti via Mägisalp to Planplatten, above 2,200 m, and from Wasserwendi to Käserstatt, while a cable car links Meiringen in the valley to Reuti. Winter has toboggan runs and winter hiking trails besides the skiing. In summer the Trift Glacier walk, with its suspension bridge, is within reach.
Is Hasliberg right for you?
- Best for

Is Hasliberg good for families?
Yes, particularly for younger children. The ski area has Skihäsliland, a dedicated children's area, plus toboggan runs and winter hiking trails. In summer the Aare Gorge is walkable on safe wooden paths, which small legs can manage.
How big is the ski area at Hasliberg?
About 60 km of slopes, according to Switzerland Tourism. Gondolas run from Reuti via Mägisalp to Planplatten and from Wasserwendi to Käserstatt. It is mid-sized, so strong skiers may want a day trip elsewhere.
Is Hasliberg one village?
No. It is four villages, Hohfluh, Wasserwendi, Goldern and Reuti, listed west to east on a terrace at around 1,000 m. Check which one your home is in, because the lifts start at Reuti and Wasserwendi.
Can you visit Reichenbach Falls from Hasliberg?
Easily. The falls are by Meiringen, down in the valley, reached by a historic funicular. A hiking trail leads to the site of the Holmes and Moriarty fight, and the Sherlock Holmes Museum is in Meiringen's old English church.
Do you need a car in Hasliberg?
It helps. A car is the easiest way to move between the four villages and down to Meiringen. The station at Brünig-Hasliberg is 4 to 8 km away with a PostBus link, and a cable car runs from Meiringen up to Reuti.
