Las Manchas suits couples who want a small home with a pool and sauna on La Palma's west side, a short drive from Puerto Naos beach. Be ready for the volcano: the 2021 Tajogaite eruption began in Las Manchas, and its lava destroyed the town of Todoque.
Las Manchas is a locality of hamlets and scattered houses rather than one village, shared between Los Llanos de Aridane and El Paso. The LP-2 road marks the line: Las Manchas de Abajo lies below it and San Nicolás above. Lava from the San Juan volcano buried parts of both in 1949, and on 19 September 2021 a new eruption opened in the forest at Cabeza de Vaca. It ran for 85 days, cut the LP-2 and wiped out Todoque. Our homes stand together on the lower slopes towards Puerto Naos, and are mostly one-bedroom places for two, each with a pool and nearly all with a sauna. Puerto Naos has a 400 metre Blue Flag beach of dark sand and gravel.

La Palma airport, in Breña Baja and Villa de Mazo, is about 33 km and roughly 45 minutes by car from Puerto Naos. TUI flies from Gatwick and Manchester, Jet2 from Manchester, with Jet2 Stansted flights due from late October 2026. Buses to Los Llanos take about two hours with a change at Santa Cruz, so hire a car.
