La Puebla de Cazalla is a small Seville province town, 44 minutes by car from Seville, where nearly every home has a pool and garden. It is a working town rather than a resort, so a car and day trips are part of the plan.
La Puebla de Cazalla has around 11,000 residents and stands 177 metres above sea level in Seville province, between countryside and sierra, with the River Corbones close by. The town has the 16th-century church of Nuestra Señora de las Virtudes on Plaza del Cardenal Spínola, castle ruins from the Al-Andalus period and a contemporary art museum with free entry but limited hours. Furniture making and ceramics are the traditional crafts. Our homes lie around the town rather than in one development. Almost all have a private pool and a garden, most sleep about six, and many have a fireplace. Pinalejo, a large area of Mediterranean pine and oak, is the local ground for walking and cycling.
About 68 km away, around 44 minutes by car, for the city sights.
A reservoir on the River Corbones about 17 km south-east of the town, where some areas are being adapted for camping and water sports.
A mountain area of Mediterranean pine and oak, used for hiking, mountain biking and picnics.
One of the nearest neighbouring towns, along with Morón de la Frontera and Arahal.
Seville Airport is about 70 km away, roughly 48 minutes by road, and Seville city around 44 minutes by car. Buses from Prado de San Sebastián in Seville take about an hour, but a hire car is the practical choice for homes spread around the town.
The town calendar is the best guide. Carnaval is in February, Semana Santa follows, the Romería falls on the first weekend of May, the Virgen de las Virtudes is celebrated in August and the Feria is in September. The art museum keeps limited hours and guided visits must be arranged in advance, so plan ahead.
