About San Vincenzo
San Vincenzo lies between Livorno and the Piombino headland. The Etruscans valued its minerals and forests, and between about the 9th and 5th centuries BC it was an industrial and commercial centre linked to nearby Populonia. The beach is fine, light-coloured sand facing a deep blue sea, and the area has held a Blue Flag for many years. The marina was once a trading port and now serves leisure boats. Rimigliano Nature Park, about 120 hectares of dunes, scrub and pine and holm oak forest, is visited on foot. Homes are grouped fairly close to town, mostly sleeping around five with two bedrooms. Many have a garden. Sailing, scuba diving and windsurfing are on offer, and pine paths suit walking and cycling.
