About Vibonati
Vibonati itself is a hill town at about 110 metres, but the homes here are all down at Villammare, its only frazione, a seaside village just above sea level on the Gulf of Policastro. Villammare was called Petrasia until it grew with seaside tourism in the 1950s. The SS18 and the Naples to Reggio Calabria railway run parallel through its northern side, though its own station closed in 2002. Sapri is about 4 km away, Policastro about 6 km, and the Basilicata border only a few kilometres off. The homes have air conditioning, a garden and a private pool, and most sleep two to four, with only a few larger.

By car, Villammare is around two and a quarter hours from Naples. Without one, take an Intercity train from Napoli Centrale to Sapri, about 2 hours 20 minutes, then cover the last 4 km to Villammare. Lamezia Terme airport is about two hours from Sapri by train. A car makes trips along the gulf far easier.
