Kassandrino suits families and groups wanting a pool villa on the Kassandra peninsula, with homes clustered nearer Kallithea. Most have a private pool and a garden, and some sleep large groups. The homes are spread out, so for tavernas, shops and the sea you will usually be driving.
Kassandrino is a small village of a couple of hundred people on the Kassandra peninsula, the westernmost of Chalkidiki's three legs. Its local community also takes in the hamlets of Moles Kalyves and Kaloutsikos. The highest point in the municipality, the 353-metre Livadakia hill, rises just south of the village. Our homes are spread over a wide area rather than packed into Kassandrino, and the middle of the spread lies near Kallithea on the east coast. That coast, from Kallithea down to Pefkochori, is the heavily built-up resort side, with shops, bars and clubs in summer. Kassandreia, the municipal seat, sits in the centre of the peninsula and holds a market every Tuesday.
The east-coast resort known for its nightlife, with the ruins of a 4th-century BC Doric temple to Zeus Ammon by the shore.

A quieter resort on the west coast, with a summer amphitheatre that puts on concerts and theatre.
A small coastal village with a spa whose central pool is fed by sulphurous volcanic water.
Fly to Thessaloniki, the nearest major airport. By car it is about 45 minutes to Kassandra, with the motorway ending near Nea Moudania and a decent road running on down the peninsula; buses take about an hour. A hire car is close to essential here.
Early and late season are the better times. In high summer, weekends bring heavy crowds and traffic from Thessaloniki onto the peninsula, so plan beach days for weekdays. Kassandrino itself, with a couple of hundred residents, stays small whatever the month.
Yes, if you are happy to drive. Most homes around Kassandrino have a private pool and a garden, and several sleep eight or more, and Kassandra is known for its sandy beaches, with the Thermaic Gulf on one side and the Toronaic Gulf on the other.
The village stays small and quiet, but the peninsula around it does not. Summer weekends bring crowds and heavy traffic from Thessaloniki, so go to the beach early or pick a weekday for the busier east-coast resorts.
They overlap, because most homes filed under Kassandrino lie nearer Kallithea than the village. Kallithea is the busy one, with shops, tavernas, bars and clubs. Kassandrino is a quiet village of a couple of hundred people, so check each home's map before booking.
