About Bad Elster
Bad Elster has around 3,500 residents and sits at 546 metres in the Elstergebirge hills, which rise to 759 metres. It became the royal spa of Saxony in 1848, and the centre holds the neoclassical Königliches Kurhaus, the Jugendstil Albert Baths and the King Albert Theatre, opened in 1914. The NaturTheater is the oldest open-air theatre in Saxony. The Moritzquelle is one of two central springs, and there are three drinking fountains.
