About Boitzenburger Land
Boitzenburger Land is a rural municipality in the Uckermark, in north-east Brandenburg close to the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern border. Ten villages merged in 1992 to form it, and at about 216 square kilometres it is one of Germany's largest municipalities, yet only around 3,100 people live here, among forests and the Uckermark Lakes Nature Park. Boitzenburg village is the administrative seat: its palace stands on a peninsula with baroque grounds, and the old stables now hold a restaurant, a chocolate maker, a bakery and a coffee roastery. The homes are spread widely; most have a sauna and many a fireplace, but check each listing.
