About Bad Sachsa
Bad Sachsa is a spa town of about 7,200 people at 310 metres in the southern Harz, recognised as a health resort in 1905 though tourism began around 1860. The homes cluster close to the town, nearly all with a garden and many with a fireplace. The Ravensberg rises to 659 metres above it, reached by a road of about 3.5 km, and is used for winter sport. The old inner German border ran very close to town, and the Grenzland Museum, founded in 1992, covers it. The town has a station on the South Harz Railway.
