Arzon suits larger families and sailing groups who want boats and sea views at the tip of the Rhuys peninsula. Many homes here sleep eight or more. It is a popular summer resort, with a newer resort quarter at Le Crouesty, so July and August are busy, and Vannes is over half an hour away by car.
Arzon sits at the very end of the Rhuys peninsula, marking the eastern entrance to the Gulf of Morbihan, and has about 2,300 residents. It has two faces. Port-Navalo is the older resort, a former fishing harbour now full of pleasure boats, with a lighthouse of 1891 and views across to Quiberon and Locmariaquer. Le Crouesty is the newer resort, in constant development since the 1970s. The homes are close together near the centre, and many are large, with three bedrooms or more; a fair number have a fireplace for cool evenings. Summer is when the resort fills; out of season, expect quiet quays and a much smaller crowd.

July and August are high season, when Arzon fills with visitors and boats and police numbers rise to match. June and September are calmer, with more room on the quays. Winter is quiet, so check opening times before planning a meal out.
