About Cap d'Agde
Cap d'Agde is a seaside resort in the commune of Agde, planned under the Mission Racine scheme set up in 1963 and classed as a seaside resort in 1971. Its zones were laid out in concentric circles around the port, and the marina has 10 basins forming a 35-hectare body of water, with about 3,100 moorings. Lifeguards work the four main beaches on most summer days. Naturism has its own village here, with a beach about 2 km long that was officially designated in 1973. Our homes sit within about three kilometres of one another, mostly small apartments and houses, and most have a private pool. Planners forecast just 2,500 permanent residents, so the resort is built around visitors. Old Agde, a short way inland on the Hérault, stands on an ancient basalt volcano.
