About Blace
Blace is a village of under 300 people in the municipality of Slivno, set in a small bay on the southern side of the Neretva Delta. There is no hotel; a majority of houses rent out private rooms, which tells you the scale. A few kilometres north lies a large beach whose shallow water has made it well known for kitesurfing. Behind the coast spreads the delta, wetland and lagoons that have been a Ramsar site since 1992, though reclamation has cut the river to three branches from the original twelve. Evenings are quiet, and Ploče and Opuzen are the nearby towns for errands.
