About Trogir

Trogir's old town fills a small islet in the channel between the mainland and the island of Čiovo, with a bridge on each side. It has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1997 for its Romanesque and Gothic churches and later Venetian-era buildings, led by the 13th century Cathedral of St Lawrence and its Radovan portal. The core is pedestrian only and compact, roughly 500 by 250 metres. Our homes are spread a few kilometres around it, on the mainland and on Čiovo, and most are on the smaller side. Beaches are pebble: Pantan sits beside a small wetland nature park on the mainland, and Okrug Gornji on Čiovo has a 1.5 km strip. Evenings play out on the Riva promenade towards the 15th century Kamerlengo fortress, and the crowds thin noticeably after about eight.

When to go to Trogir

At nearby Split, July is the hottest and driest month, and in July and August Trogir's main square and Riva are at their busiest, so early mornings and evenings are the calmer times to walk. The sea is about as warm in September as in June, which makes both good months to swim. November is the wettest month, and winter on this coast is mild.
