About Dragovode
Listings under the name Dragovode are mapped around Split, Croatia's second-largest city with 160,577 residents in 2021, rather than in one small village, and they spread over about 11 kilometres. The homes are mostly modest: two bedrooms for around four, nearly all air-conditioned, many with a garden and a minority with a pool. Split grew up around Diocletian's Palace, completed in 305 CE, and the historic core has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The Riva is the main pedestrian street, and Marjan, a wooded hill of 178 metres on the western side of the peninsula, is the city's favourite walk. Split's port is a gateway to the islands and one of the busiest passenger ports in the Mediterranean, so a day on the water is easy to arrange.
