Split airport is about 50 minutes by road from the Krka park stop at Lozovac, which is itself about 9 km from Bilice. Public transport is thin, with bus 701 running to Lozovac only about four times a day, and the homes are spread out, so a hire car is the practical choice.
Šibenik, the nearest city, has mild, humid winters and hot, dry summers, with July and August the hottest months, July the driest and November the wettest. Summer is therefore the time for pool days and for Krka and the coast, while winter suits a quiet stay with one of the homes with a fireplace. Each summer Šibenik puts on concerts, many of them on the open-air stage at St Michael's Fortress.
