Haus im Ennstal suits groups who want the Hauser Kaibling slopes and a sauna or private pool at the end of the day. Many homes here are large, and more than half sleep eight or more. The village is small, and Schladming, in the same ski area, is where the bars and shops are.
Haus im Ennstal is a village of about 2,400 people at 774 metres on the Enns, at the foot of the Hauser Kaibling. The mountain rises to 2,015 metres, has a longest run of 7 km and is one of four linked mountains in the Schladming-Dachstein area, with Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm. The village has hosted World Cup races and the women's events of the 1982 World Championships. The homes are spread over about two kilometres, and many are built for bigger parties. Evenings in the village are low key. For a proper night out, Schladming's small old town, easily crossed on foot, has the restaurants and several lively bars.

Skiing is the main season, with Hauser Kaibling linked to Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm. In summer the Dachstein area has many hiking and climbing paths. Between seasons, check lift and hut opening times before you travel. Schladming's bars and restaurants are the draw for evenings, so base a night out there rather than in the village.
