Valbella is a small village on the Heidsee lake, paired with Lenzerheide and part of the Arosa Lenzerheide ski area. About half the homes have a fireplace, and the village has only about 500 year-round residents.
Valbella lies at about 1,500 metres between Lenzerheide to the south and Parpan to the north, with the Heidsee lake on its southern edge. About 500 people live here year-round, rising to roughly 3,000 in the winter peak. It is in Romansh-speaking territory and part of the Vaz/Obervaz municipality. It joined the Arosa Lenzerheide ski area in the winter of 2013/14 and its lifts climb to the Stätzerhorn, first opened up for skiing in the early 1960s. In summer the Heidsee has a lido and surfboard hire. Our homes are all in the village, about half with a fireplace and some with a garden. Lenzerheide, next door to the south, sits at the foot of the Parpaner Rothorn.

Reached by the Urdenbahn cable car linking the two resorts since 2013, or by hiking from the Rothorn via Schwellisee in about three hours.
Zurich Airport is the nearest big gateway, and the drive follows the main road up from Chur. By train, change at Chur and take the PostAuto on the Julier line up to Lenzerheide. A car makes the transfer easier.
Winter is the main season, with the Arosa Lenzerheide ski area and a Light Ride night toboggan run listed for the evening. Summer brings hiking and mountain biking on peaks above 2,000 metres, the Bike Kingdom Park with five trails, and the Heidsee lido. The Parpaner Rothorn cable car runs from May to November.
