Lenzerheide suits families who want a lake, 225 km of linked slopes with Arosa and an apartment for about four. A fair number of homes have a fireplace. The trade-off is the main road: the Chur to Tiefencastel route runs straight through the valley and the village.
Lenzerheide sits at roughly 1,450 to 1,600 metres in a high valley at the foot of the Parpaner Rothorn, with Valbella at its northern end and the Heidsee lake between the two. It grew from summer pastures: the first hotel opened in 1882, Nietzsche stayed in 1887, and the first ski lifts followed in 1942. Nearly all the homes we list sit within about a kilometre of each other, mostly apartments and small chalets. The Rothorn cable car climbs towards the area's top at 2,865 metres, and the Urdenbahn joins the slopes to Arosa. Beyond skiing there is a large natural ice rink, an indoor pool, 56 km of cross-country trails and, in summer, an 18-hole golf course.
Linked over the ridge by the Urdenbahn cable car, built in 2013; one pass covers both sides of the ski area.
Graubünden's capital and reputedly Switzerland's oldest town; about 40 minutes on PostAuto line 182, which runs every 30 minutes.
Lake between Valbella and Lenzerheide with a free lido in summer and a 2 km cross-country loop on the ice in winter.
Village at the southern end of the valley, home of the Roland Arena, which hosted the 2025 Biathlon World Championships.
Zurich airport is the closest, about 150 km and roughly two hours by car. By public transport, take the train to Chur and then PostAuto line 182 up, about two hours twenty five minutes from the airport. In winter the train and bus are the safer choice when roads ice up.
Winter offers 225 km of pistes, 56 km of cross-country trails, 80 km of winter walking paths and Friday night skiing. Summer is just as busy on the ground, with 170 km of walking trails, mountain bike routes reached by the Rothorn cable car, and swimming, sailing and paddleboarding on the Heidsee. Fishing on the lake runs from 1 June to 15 October.
Yes. The Heidsee has a free lido with a climbing wall and pirate ship, the ski area has children's lifts, and there is a floodlit toboggan run down to the Rothorn valley station. Most homes suit about four people.
No. PostAuto line 182 runs from Chur every 30 minutes and takes about 40 minutes. A car is handier for exploring, but winter roads can ice up, so many visitors come by train and bus.
Zurich, about two hours by car for roughly 150 km. By public transport, take the train to Chur and the PostAuto up; the whole trip takes about two hours twenty five minutes.
Yes for biking and walking. There are over 250 km of marked bike routes, 170 km of walking paths, an 18-hole golf course and watersports on the Heidsee, where the water sports centre hires kayaks and paddleboards.
Lenzerheide is on the main road between Chur and Tiefencastel, with a lake, golf and cross-country trails. Arosa is at the end of its own valley road and railway. The Urdenbahn joins the two ski areas, so one pass covers both.
