About Churwalden
Churwalden lies on the main road from Chur towards Lenzerheide. It has a former monastery whose church dates mostly from around 1500, with late Gothic altars, and a Gothic painting from about 1335. Its own lifts take you to the Pradaschier mountain, which has a toboggan run, a rope park, a zipline and a mountain restaurant. Four of the ski area's lifts are in Churwalden, including the Heidbüel gondola and the Pradaschier chairlift. Our homes cluster in and around the village, a mix of small places and a few big enough for large groups. For the Heidsee lake and the main resort village, carry on along the same road to Lenzerheide.

Is Churwalden a ski resort?
Partly. Churwalden has its own lifts into the Arosa Lenzerheide ski area, four of its 43 lifts, but the main resort villages are Lenzerheide and Arosa. The rest are in Arosa and on the Lenzerheide side.
What is the Pradaschier near Churwalden?
An adventure mountain above Churwalden with a toboggan run, a rope park, a zipline and a mountain restaurant. A large car park sits at the valley station, and a Postbus stops at Churwalden Bergbahnen.
Is Churwalden part of the Lenzerheide ski area?
It is. Four of the 43 lifts in Arosa Lenzerheide are in Churwalden, including the Heidbüel gondola and the Pradaschier chairlift. The Urdenbahn cable car, built in 2013, links the Lenzerheide side of the area with Arosa.
Is Churwalden worth visiting for history?
Yes, briefly. The former monastery church, built mostly around 1500, has a late Gothic interior with two winged altars, and a Coronation of the Virgin painting dated around 1335.
Churwalden or Lenzerheide for a ski holiday?
Lenzerheide is the main resort, beside the Heidsee and closer to the Rothorn gondola. Churwalden, reached first on the road up from Chur, has its own gondola, four lifts and the Pradaschier toboggan run.
