Hermigua (north coast)
Most of our La Gomera villas are in Hermigua, a long valley of banana plantations and terraces running down to the sea. Trails climb from the valley to El Cedro and the laurel forest of the Garajonay national park. At the coast, a seawater pool gives safer swimming than the open beach. Agulo, a small village of cobbled lanes, is a few minutes west. San Sebastián and the ferry are around 30 minutes away.
Best for: Walkers who want laurel forest above and the sea below
Not for you if: You want beach weather every day: the north catches cloud, and the beach is pebbly with rough water.
